Afghan Journalist Refugees

Donation protected
Nov. 2023 - The Hazara camerawoman we've been supporting has finally been resettled!!

In our latest update, you can see screen grabs from the video I received, which is a comprehensive tour of her new life, her new flat in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, back in Pakistan, the authorities are systematically deporting Afghans - some who have been there for three generations. In Afghanistan, we don't even know the extent of the misery except that every week, more Afghans try to make contact, presumably for help to escape.

So we are at a crossroads - with the last of my cases resolved thanks to your help and the help of numerous individuals and agencies, I am stepping back and if you would also like to be unsubscribed from this campaign - there is no judgment here whatsoever.

My colleague, Louise Hidalgo - a formidable journalist who has quietly helped with some of these cases - is committed to helping more - highly vulnerable women - who need those stepping stones of safety more than ever.

As ever, any donations to this campaign go in their entirety to Afghan recipients - journalists or their families. Louise and I are here to answer questions or provide any accounting evidence for how funds are disbursed.

I hope you'll either stay with us - or share our campaign. I will be supporting Louise and look forward to new happy endings.
