Now is a time where the needs in our community are great and urgent, as the circumstances become more dire in Afghanistan by the hour. The vast majority of the resettled families in our community still have family members in Afghanistan, and are urging that every step is taken for their safe arrival to the United States.
You can help. Our goal is to raise enough money to reunite at least 4 family members who are in Afghanistan now, with their families who live here in Charlottesville. We have surpassed the initial goal to bring 4 family members over, and are working now to bring more.
Every I-130 Petition for Alien Relative is $535 to submit. For many families, it would be difficult to manage this cost, but this is one way we can step in for monetary assistance. If you make a donation, every dollar will be used to bring family members of our community to the U.S. from Afghanistan.
