Help Afghan Baha'i Family get to Safety
Donation protected
We urgently need your help! Through mutual Baha’i friends, it has come to our attention that an Afghani Baha’i family is in danger. They fled their home and are now in Pakistan where they still are not safe. They have been living in Pakistan, but now the government is forcibly returning, even those with visas back to Afghanistan where the father would almost certainly be executed and his wife forced to marry a member of the Taliban.
The family consists of the parents and three young children. The Baha’is of Nelson BC, Canada have agreed to help sponsor them and a small group of Baha’is and friends are working on this together. We are opening this Go Fund Me Page so we can quickly get some money to help them. Please do what you can to bring them to safety.
We have applied through a sponsoring organization for this family to join our community and must have $36,000 ready, to beheld in trust by the sponsoring organization to support their first year in Canada
PLEASE NOTE: As a caution for their safety we are not using their names. Their status as Baha'is, in good standing, has been verified by national and international Baha'i Institutions
Your donation will support them for their daily needs, airfare to get them to safety and living expenses till they are able to work in Canada. The father is a teacher and his wife is a certified midwife
PLEASE DONATE WHAT YOU CAN
