AFD Steve Buser Memorial Fund

On Friday, March 17, 2017 our lives forever changed. My brother-in-law, Steve Buser, collapsed while working out at the end of his shift at the Ames Fire Department, he did not survive.

Steve was a career firefighter, starting first as a volunteer at Lone Tree Volunteer Fire Department and then joined the Ames Fire Department full time on November 18, 1999, as a firefighter EMT and certified CPR and defibrillator instructor.

The absolute light of Steve's life was his family. His wife of 23 years, Angie and  their daughter Braxton were his everything and his death leaves a huge hole in my sister's family in many ways. He devoted his life to taking care of them both, and did not plan on leaving them so soon; emotionally, physically or financially.

The outpouring of support has been overwhelming and many of you have asked where you can donate. We decided this would be the easiest way to accomodate the range of people whom have contacted us. All donations will go toward funeral expenses and future expenses for Angie and Braxton.
