Chad Christensen, our son n law was critically injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday night... was taken to Salem Hospital, then transferred to Emanuel Hospital in the Neuro Trauma ICU.
At this point, all we know is, he has a broken pelvis (which caused the internal bleeding), All the ribs on the left side were broken, which punctured his lungs, causing a collapsed lung. He has a chest tube in for that, he's scheduled for surgery today, to repair the pelvic bones.
The helmet he was wearing, did what it was supposed to do, saved his head... no brain bleed, or skull fractures... might have a concussion.
The Doctors have him in a medical induced coma, so his body can rest and prepare for the surgery.
We do not know for sure, what else has been damaged...
We do know, he's a VERY STRONG man, who loves his family more than life itself... thus he's going to fight, with everything in him, to be able to get back to them.
We have no idea the financial impact this is going to be, so we're starting with what we think, some home expenses, and other expenses they will be....
