AFC Rushden & Diamonds Sponsorships 2020-21

Donation protected
I want to help AFC Rushden & Diamonds, a club very close to my heart, to prepare for a turbulent summer and successful new season by raising enough money to sponsor the shirt's sleeves (£2400) and the home warm-up tops (£360) for 2020/21.

With no football being played and no matchday income, clubs up and down football structures across the world are under threat of not being able to meet their running costs.

If we're successful in reaching the £1,200 target, the sleeve advertising space will be gifted to the charity CALM - the Campaign Against Living Miserably - as a charity that's both very close to my heart, and that of the club. This means the £1,200 we raise will go to AFCRD to help with their running costs, and the team's sleeve sponsor will be CALM.

Rushden & Diamonds have given me an awful lot of joy over the last two years, which is why I've started this GoFundMe. I'm not from Northamptonshire, I've not been to Nene Park or Hayden Road, and before January 2019, I had very little association with the club. However, at that point, I started writing my Championship Manager 2001/02 series Diamond Geezers, based on the original Doc Martens-era R&D, and now I've started Diamond Geezers 2 on Twitch with the phoenix club AFCRD.

For AFC Rushden & Diamonds, the problem of a loss of matchday income has gone from dangerous to critical with the guaranteed loss of income that comes from the withdrawal of the main shirt sponsor. The crucial £18,000 per year that would have been coming to the club from this deal is now gone. Further information:

I want to raise as much money as I can to support the club in these trying times.

The streams don't earn me much money and the writing never made me any, but the amount of joy my followers and I are getting from taking the club through the English league structure is truly wonderful. We all feel like we owe the club a lot. We are fans of AFC Rushden & Diamonds in our own way, and we want to help. The club has given us so much happiness, and we want to step up in its time of need. The idea of AFC Rushden & Diamonds not surviving the current crisis is an unbearable idea that I feel a duty to try to prevent.

So please, if you love football and want to help a brilliant, community-owned football club get through the current crisis, please give generously to this GoFundMe, or if you can't donate right now - which is totally understandable - simply sharing this page and spreading the word would be a great help. Thank you.
