Did you know- According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Dominican Republic's mortality rate of children under the age of 5 is over 33%.

I am in a doctoral program at the University of San Diego to obtain my degree as a Family Nurse Pracitioner.  As RN's and future NP's, we as students in the School of Nursing are working in conjunction with a small parish church community in El Cerado, Dominican Republic where health care is extremly limited. We will be providing well-child exams, health and developmental screenings, and home visits throughout the city. We will also be working with local health care pracitioners and families to develop community health programs. Please help me reach my goal so I am able to help make a small difference in improving the health of this community on our 10 day mission trip this winter.
