Aerial Arts Fairfax Emergency Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hello dear Friends, Family and Community Members. This is Meredith McMurray, current Owner and Creative Director of Aerial Arts Fairfax. As you may know, since March 19th we have been directed to close in order to ensure safe space for each other and do our best to support the health of the larger community.

The extremely long amount of time we have been required to cease offering valuable classes and performances to the community has put us in a very hard place in multiple ways.
The unavoidable truth is, we simply will not be able to continue to exist if we do not receive financial help from our community during this time to supplement us during the time we are unable to operate.

Aerial Arts Fairfax needs your help to bridge the gap between the last day we were able to operate to the day we will be able to reopen for business again. As the business owner, I did apply for multiple emergency financial assistance grants, loans, etc, only to find they had all run out. We have not been able to receive any funding for Aerial Arts Fairfax yet. There currently doesn't appear to be much hope for that in the near future. So, I'm opening this opportunity to help to you, the community who has held this program so dear, (some for almost a decade)!

Here is the overview of how your donations will help:

- As the owner, Program Director, Lead Instructor - also being the one responsible for managing all of the safety, financial, administrative, marketing, logistics, public relations and keeping up to date with Aerial Arts Skills and key knowledge - this has been my FULL time employment since June 2019. Since we abruptly had to pause our offerings to the community, I was unable to get any kind of temporary work. My main goal is to be able to resume providing this valuable Aerial Arts program to the community. During the time that classes have been paused, all of my efforts have been going in the direction to resume AAF offerings when we become allowed to. Your donations will help me personally be able to afford to cover my basic needs for 3 months.
$10,500

- Aerial Arts Fairfax was/is proud to employ, 4 instructors, and 6 assistant instructors. It pains me that they too have abruptly lost their ability to work during this time. If enough funding is raised, we would like to offer rescue funding to the other acrobats who are not only unable to work with Aerial Arts Fairfax, but they are also unable to work anywhere else during the last few months as well. I'd like to be able to extend to them, the full amount or some percentage of the amount of money they would have made if business were running as usual for 3 months.
$7,600

- Estimated 3 months worth of expenses Aerial Arts Fairfax needs to keep up with otherwise are:
~ Payments towards the NEW 5 pulley Aerial Rig system installed into the ceiling of Fairfax Community Church $2,000
~ One safety inspection of the 9 point Aerial Rigging system at FCC before classes resume $150
   ~ Insurance Coverage $600
~ Payments toward the ample Aerial Apperatii and Safety Equipment owned by the company $850
   ~ Accounting Services $750
~ Marketing expenses we will definitely NEED in order to relaunch successfully $1,500
~ Storage for our equipment at Fairfax Community Church $300
~ Also, we would like to be able to make a donation to Fairfax Community Church holding space for us to return to offering classes in their sanctuary. Something between $1,000 and $2,000 would be great!
~ Extra Laundry services and cleaning products for Aerial Silks across three months once classes resume $1,200

TOTAL: $27,450

We are setting our request for donations at $20,000.

If 400 people donate $50, we will make this goal!
If 400 people donate $70, we will make our real goal!

If you are able to give more than the projected average, you will be directly helping those of us who have also been tapped out financially by the current tragedy.

Also, I can't stress enough, no donation is too small or insignificant to help us continue to be able to exist and eventually get to a place of thriving with you, in the near future!

If you find you cannot donate to us financially at this time, here are two other ways you can help us that do not require money or much time at all.

1. Leave us a 5 Star Yelp review! If you or your child have ever had a great experience with Aerial Arts Fairfax in a class or watching us perform anywhere (the Fairfax Farmers Market for example), you can let the world know online the positivity of your experience and how you'd like to recommend us to your friends or anyone in the community!

2. Contact me! Yes, Text, Email or Call me directly and let me know how you and your family are doing, what you love and miss about Aerial Arts, and what you'd like to see us offering the community in the (hopefully) near future once we are able to resume classes and performances!

In Closing:

Aerial Arts Fairfax exists to provide a safe and inspiring home base where people of all ages can learn the skill of aerial arts and enjoy amazing performances. Our heart rests within our community. We are strong when we are connected, learning and creating together.  This program has been very special to the Fairfax community for 9 years! At times our program serves as many as 40 students each week! The uniqueness of this program is that we turn every student into a capable performer. We learn here that the art of movement is all about looking within, learning to trust yourself, expressing what is real inside of you, and finding freedom in every moment - whether on or off the ground!

We hope to have programs at some capacity for you to attend in the end of May or early June, as the Marin County health policy allows. Any and all payments for spring will be applied to future programs.

If you and your family would like to be scheduled for private lessons to reduce exposure to others, please do let us know via a call, text, or email ASAP!

Thank you so much for your time and attention today. I look forward to seeing you all in good health and wellness soon!

Blessings,
