Hola mi nombre es Gabriela Villegas de Aguirre, soy de Guatemala y mi familia en Estados Unidos nos está ayudando a recaudar fondos para mi suegro, Juan Herberth Aguirre, todo el dinero recaudado se usará para cubrir la cuenta del hospital aquí en Guatemala en el Hospital Herrera Llerandi.

Déjame contarte un poco sobre nuestro maravilloso ¨Yayo¨, es un Abuelo fuerte, trabajador y amoroso, siempre está pendiente a toda su familia. Él también es un padre increíble para mi esposo, mi cuñado y mi cuñada; conmigo ha sido una persona maravillosa, ¡es como MI PAPÁ también!

Nuestro ¨Yayo¨ tuvo una Cirugía de Reemplazo de Cadera el día 13 de junio del 2024… todo iba bien así que regresó a su casa para recuperarse, tenía una enfermera asignada para ayudarlo todo el tiempo, para limpiar la herida y asistirlo en su recuperación; también recibió terapias físicas para recuperar fuerzas y poder volver a caminar. Gracias a Dios se sentía mejor por lo que empezó a caminar con andador y luego con bastón, pero el 1ro de julio empezó a sentirse mal, mi cuñada lo llevó al médico para comprobar si todo estaba bien, el médico le quitó los puntos y dijo que todo estaba normal. Al siguiente día tuvo fiebre, por lo que ella le hizo análisis de sangre de inmediato y lo llevó al hospital el 4 de julio. En el hospital, los médicos realizaron todo tipo de pruebas y descubrieron que nuestro Yayo había contraído cuatro bacterias diferentes y lamentablemente ya estaban corriendo en su sangre.

El 13 de julio abrieron de nuevo para poder limpiar la cirugía anterior y confirmar si la prótesis de cadera estaba contaminada o no. Como la infección bacteriana corría por su sangre todo empezó a empeorar, tuvo una perforación gastrointestinal causándole un estómago hinchado con mucho dolor, empezó a tener dificultades al respirar ya que sus pulmones habían absorbido agua debido al proceso inflamatorio; sus niveles de oxígeno comenzaron a bajar, así que le pusieron una máscara de oxígeno, estaba débil y cansado. Su nivel de oxígeno seguía bajando por lo que los médicos decidieron llevarlo a la UCI (Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos) y ahora se encuentra Intubado. A raíz de que todos sus órganos empezaron a colapsar, sus riñones dejaron de funcionar junto con su estómago, ahora tienen que hacerle hemodiálisis cada dos días.

Estamos orando y esperando un milagro para poder tenerlo nuevamente con nosotros. Los gastos desde la primera operación han sido bastante grandes, la cirugía de cadera del 13 de junio, junto con todos los gastos de exámenes más los cuidados ambulatorios salieron en $25,000. La cuenta en el hospital hasta la fecha va por $150,000 y va subiendo día con día. Hemos logrado cubrir una parte de la cuenta, pero no estábamos preparados para este escenario tan complicado. Lamentablemente no podemos trasladarlo a otro lugar porque es demasiado riesgoso. ¡Por esta razón vengo a pedirles su ayuda!

Hello My name is Gaby Villegas de Aguirre, I live in Guatemala and my family in the US is helping us to collect funds for my father in law, Juan Herberth Aguirre, all the money will go directly to cover the hospital bill here in Guatemala, Hospital Herrera LLerandi.

Let me tell you a little bit about our wonderful ¨Yayo¨, he is a strong, hardworking, and, loving Grandfather, always caring for all his family. He is an awesome dad to my husband, brother and sister in law and he has been great to me too, so I am keeping him as MY DAD also!

Our ¨Yayo¨ had a Hip Replacement Surgery back in June 13th, 2024… everything was going well so he went back home for recovery, he had a nurse helping him all the time, cleaning the wound, standing up; he also had had physical therapies to help him recover his strength in order to start walking again. He was feeling better, and he started walking, but in July 1st he started feeling sick, my sister in law took him to the doctor to check if everything was fine, doctor removed the stiches and said everything was normal. He got a fever so blood test were taken right away and the results showed that he was infected with 4 different bacterias.

In July 13th they re-opened so they could clean inside the previous surgery and confirm if the hip prosthesis was contaminated or not. Since the bacterial infection was running in his blood, everything started getting worse, he got a gastrointestinal perforation causing him a bloat stomach with too much pain, he started having difficulties when breathing since his lungs had absorbed water due to inflammatory process; he’s oxygen levels started dropping so he stared using an oxygen mask, he was weak and tired. His oxygen level kept dropping so doctors decided to take him to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and now he is Intubated. Since all his organs started to collapse, his kidneys stopped working along with his stomach, he is going through hemodialysis every two days.

We are praying and hoping for a miracle so we can have him with us again. Having our Grandpa Yayo in the hospital here in Guatemala is super expensive, the bill is getting higher every day, we cannot move him somewhere else because is too risky. We've paid a lot of money so far, the first surgery was $20,000, and the bill right now is aprox $125,000 and it keeps going higher every day. We already paid of the current hospital bill but unfortunetely we were not prepared fot his complicated scenario; this is why I kindly ask for you help!
