Cindy Hancock, 59, of Bettendorf, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, after a courageous battle with breast cancer for almost 2 years.

Cindy was born May 6, 1962, to Bruce and Barbara Erenberger in Great Lakes, IL. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1980. Following High School, Cindy earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Augustana College. She taught at George O. Barr Elementary for 35 years. Cindy's beautiful soul touched the lives of countless children, friends, and family. She completed her Masters in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University in 1993. On March 26, 1994, Cindy married the love of her life, Jeff Hancock. Her love first and foremost, was raising their four daughters together.

Cindy loved singing along to Jeff playing his guitar, spending time with friends and family, and taking on a motherly role for every one of her daughter's friends. She was committed to fighting her battle with cancer. Sadly, her life was cut far too short. Cindy and her family met many special people along her journey, and would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of support. Cindy will be dearly missed by her husband, Jeff; daughters: Jessica (Cris) Washburn, Carly (Zachary Manos) Hancock, Brynn Hancock, and Abigail Hancock; grandchildren: Lucas and Augie Washburn; parents: Bruce and Barbara Erenberger; siblings: Dennis, Dana, and Douglas Erenberger; mother-in-law: Carol Hancock, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Lomax and her father-in-law, Richard Hancock.
