Chemosaturation Cancer Treatment

Hi, my name is Amanda Clark, setting up this fundraiser is really well and truly way out of my comfort zone, but the treatment I require to hopefully give me some more time in this crazy world is not currently funded by the NHS and I have to access it privately.

My Story
in August 2013 I was diagnosed with Ocular Melanona a very rare eye cancer which only affects around 6 in every million people.
I had radiation treatment on my eye which was successful in killing off the tumour however I have lost most of my vision now in the affected eye.
Unfortunately I’d like to say this is where my nightmare ended but ocular melanoma has a 50/50 chance of spreading to other areas of the body, mainly the liver, brain, lungs or bones.
After 8 years of clear MRI scans in 2021 I was given the devastating news that there were 3 tiny lesions on my liver. Me being me the lesions did not grow or change for 3 years and I was told they could possibly be hemangiomas, non cancerous tumours, so it was a case of watch and wait.
.This brings me to January 2024 and a change had occurred on my latest scans, the tumours had started to grow. A decision was made to operate and I had a liver re-section and ablation in May 2024 and the tumours were successfully removed from my liver. It was confirmed after a biopsy that they were indeed melanoma metastasis.
Unfortunately this was to be short lived, after a clear scan In August by December I had new tumours appear again in my liver. This time I was offered to have immunotherapy and began treatment of Pembrolizmiub in May 2025. I suffered horrendous side effects from the drug which I am still recovering from now and because of this I was unable to continue with this treatment and it was stopped in November 2025, a new scan confirmed that further tumours had appeared.
I was basically told there was nothing else I could be offered in regards to further treatments and my only option was to try and enrol on a drugs trial.
So this brings things up to date, my oncologist has been trying to get me a place on a trial and this is not an easy process in any way shape or form. The places on these trials are very hard to access as there are limited numbers available and too many patients wanting treatments.
I am currently on a waiting list for a trial at Clatterbridge in Liverpool however they cannot give me any indication as to when a place will be available and then this will be after I have had numerous tests to see if I am suitable.
The only other option I have is a treatment called Chemosaturation, which brings me to the purpose of starting this fundraiser.
Chemosaturation is not currently funded by the NHS and can only be accessed privately at a cost of around £40,000 per procedure and a minimum amount of at least 3 operations is required. This is my very best option and could potentially extend my life for a number of years.
I am a very determined person and I cannot let this disease win. If you can make a donation however small to help I would be grateful and it would be very much appreciated ,if not I ask if you can just share this fundraiser and try and make it as viral and as global as possible.
Much love Amanda ❤️ x

What is Chemosaturation
Chemosaturation therapy is a non-surgical treatment for cancer of the liver. Using X-ray guidance, an anti-cancer drug (chemotherapy) is delivered directly to the liver, whilst the blood supply to the liver is sealed off to prevent the spread of the drug to the rest of the body.

It can target not only visualised tumours in the liver, but even those that are non-visualised. Once the liver has been saturated in the chemotherapy, the blood is haemofiltrated to remove as much of the chemotherapy agent as possible to minimise the associated side effects that come with conventional delivery methods of chemotherapy.

Chemosaturation is suitable for patients with primary liver cancer and metastatic liver cancer (cancer that starts in another part of your body and then spreads to the liver).

Chemosaturation therapy in particular has been shown to prolong life in patients with ocular melanoma where the cancer has spread to the liver.

Disclaimer
Please note, should the treatment not take place or my health deteriorates and I am not deemed suitable to go ahead with it then any funds will be split, to make my life as comfortable as possible and the remainder will be donated to OCUMEL UK, the eye cancer charity who have helped and continue to help myself and many others with advice, care and understanding of living with this terrible disease.
