I never imagined myself ever writing a GoFundMe and asking friends, family and strangers for help. The idea of being openly vulnerable to everyone in asking for help has never come easy, especially when asking for a monetary donation.

However, life threw a curveball this past November when my sister, Kristin was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer after an annual mammogram screening.

As many of you know Kristin has been a longtime advocate of breast cancer awareness. She has even dedicated many years of volunteer work for the Susan G. Komen Foundation here in Oklahoma. Her passionate fight for breast cancer awareness began 28 years ago when our own grandmother bravely fought and won her battle against breast cancer. Now, as Kristin is battling the same fight she has been advocating for others for so long, it is our turn to help support her.

Kristin has never been one to ask anyone for help, but even with her health insurance, medical expenses for her treatment and care are amassing. I am graciously asking you all for your help in supporting Kristin, as she takes on and courageously battles to beat this.
