Twenty-one years ago, Mike Botti was handed a cancer diagnosis, fought it and won; beating the odds! Recently, however, doctors discovered this aggressive brain cancer, hemangiopericytoma, has returned. In his original fight, the cancer was localized in his brain. Upon leaving remission, though, it has returned and metastasized to his ribs, as well. He has endured three surgeries in recent months with a scheduled brain surgery in February to battle this horrific disease. Surgeries and treatment require travel, food and lodging out of state, as well as lost time from work for his wife and caregiver, Sheila. Between surgery dates, Mike must undergo radiation treatments requiring travel and numerous other expenditures. This world of today is too difficult to navigate financially for all of us. This cruel and vicious cancer, though, has intensified the hardship for Mike and Sheila. Health insurance doesn’t cover 100% and doesn’t pay for travel and lost paychecks. Especially now, during the holiday season, the emotional and mental battles only compound the struggle. Mike and Sheila are both Hermiston graduates and long-term, active members of our local community who have raised their three children in Hermiston, as well. Mike is extremely kind and generous. He is continuously helping others in need throughout our communities. During this fight, any and all donations, prayers and warm thoughts are welcomed and appreciated with sincerity. Please help the Botti Family beat cancer!
