It's almost two months since one of my best friends passed away after fighting stomach cancer. We were mates from the age of 12, so I don't think I will ever completely recover from his loss. But I know I can help raise awareness about this cruel disease, while also acting on the perspective Garrett's passing has given me about valuing every moment of life we get to enjoy on this earth.

Prior to his illness, Garrett Clinton had become a keen cyclist, joining a peloton and crossing parts of the Alps and Pyrenees. He lost 25 kilos in the process and was a picture of health before he was struck down.
