David's Summer with Jesus!

As you may or may not know I will be graduating from FSU in just a couple of weeks. With a college degree in one hand and no clue what to do with my life in the other, I am turning to the one and only thing I have truly come to find passion in, Jesus Christ. All of my life I have only heard what it is to be a "good person”, but in developing an honest relationship with God I have come to realize that He calls us all to be far greater then just “good people”. I have witnessed God do amazing things inside of my heart over these past couple of years, strengthening my faith day by day. These very things have only grown to place a burden within me, making me want to do something that could help develop the spiritual foundation of my life while also preparing me to glorify Christ in everything that I do.
God has graciously provided me with a unique opportunity to join 125 other students from across the Southeastern U.S. for a work-study program sponsored by The Navigators, an international ministry organization dedicated to serving Christ. We’ll be located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, right on the edge of the Smokey Mountain National Park. My summer will be spent working at Dollywood and also participating in an intense discipleship program sponsored by The Navigators.
Much of my growth will happen in a team setting, where three or four students will be together with a Navigator team leader. We will live together, work together, and study the Bible together. We will also have the opportunity to influence other employees of Dollywood. All summer I will be developing new friendships with college students from around the country and the world. This will give me a unique opportunity to have a “missions experience” in the context of this training program. I believe this experience will prove invaluable to me as I begin my life in the “real world”. I hope to be better equipped in my first year out of college to mirror the light of Christ to whomever He shall put in my life.
The reason I am sharing this opportunity with you is that I would love for you to get behind me financially. I will not make enough in my summer job to pay for the program expenses. I am able to raise funds through The Navigators to cover the costs of my room, board, and all activities associated with the program. The Navigators are allowing me to raise this money from friends and family like you.
I am asking God to surround me with a team of people who will each pray for me and financially contribute any amount. The total cost for this training program is $2769. That works out to be about $45/day of the program. Would you prayerfully consider being part of my support team for this summer? Perhaps you could fund me for one or two days of the program. I would be deeply grateful for any amount you might choose to give. Thank you for considering this and as the Lord leads you, please donate by May 20. I will arrive in Pigeon Forge on May 29!
