Last Friday Brian Boyd was rushed to the local ER where it was discovered that he had a brain bleed and was then immediately airlifted to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. Once there, he was rushed into emergency surgery to repair a brain aneurysm and a drain was placed for the brain bleed.
While Brian remains at Cottage for a long recovery, Gina is home with Natalie because no guests/family are allowed in Cottage Hospital due to Covid-19 restrictions. Gina is limited to waiting on periodic updates from the hospital, which adds even more stress to an already terrible situation.
If you know Brian and Gina Boyd you know they are the first to raise their hands when it comes to volunteering and to helping others. Whether it is dance fundraisers, school volunteering duties or putting in a new sound system at a church, they never think twice about giving their time, energy and financial contributions for the benefit of others.
They are the last to ask for help, but it's going to be a long road ahead for recovery and every little bit helps.
Please consider donating to ease the burden of medical expenses ahead for the Boyd Family.
5/11 update from Gina:
Hi, talked to doctor today, he is still sedated and on the ventilator and they did a cat scan and the pressure went down in his head but he has two blood vessels that are in spasm. Not unheard of in this type of case. They are going to do an angioplasty tomorrow, send a 3D camera up look at the vessels close up and inject medicine to dilate to help calm the spasms. Always a risk with a procedure, but it is a small risk. Doing nothing is a greater risk. So the doc certainly let me know that if all goes well he will be in the hospital for 3 weeks(at least). I will take that if they can get him home. So one day at a time...Thank you all for the continued prayers. We love you all!!!❤️
