Advocacy for the Ages (AFA) is a student-run organization based in Calgary focusing on raising awareness about intergenerational abuse and inspiring others to take action. Some of our actions include delivering presentations on mental health, raising awareness on trauma and consent in schools/community centres, aiming to act as a link between students and professionals for interdisciplinary action, and striving to promote resources to the community and provide a safe space for education and support.

As part of our mission, we are hoping to establish ourselves as a registered charity. Funding is needed to become a registered provincial and federal charity, and all donations support the club mission of promoting/practicing intergenerational advocacy.

Why do we want to become a charity?

The decision behind this is simple: we want our advocacy to be more than just heard—we want it to be felt.

Becoming a registered charity will allow us to grow our reach, strengthen our partnerships, and make our actions more long-lasting.

Why do we need the funding?

Every donation helps us continue our mission of promoting and practicing intergenerational advocacy. Including: developing trauma-informed resources, creating accessible educational sources on children's and elderly advocacy, and producing community-based support for children, youth, and elders alike.
