Fighting for the ones we’ve lost and those still fighting.
We recently lost our grandfather, Thinh Dinh Ngo, to lung cancer.
From a young age, he was a trailblazer, constantly inspiring others. Born in Huê, Vietnam, he was among the first generation of Vietnamese students to pursue higher education in the United States. Despite the challenges of a new language and culture, he persevered with quiet strength and unwavering resilience. He earned a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering at the University of Minnesota and a masters and Ph.D. at Concordia University.
But above all, he was a loving and devoted family man. He found joy in sharing his love for music, playing ping pong, and gathering for lunch with his children and grandchildren to share stories. He celebrated and supported each of our professional, academic, and athletic dreams with genuine interest and pride. His legacy is one of strength, humility, and love, which is carried forth through his family and the lives he touched along the way.
In July, Michelle and Lindsey will run the Davis Moonlight Run to support personalized fitness, nutrition, and mindset guidance for cancer patients and survivors.
If you feel moved to contribute, please know that a donation of any amount will help give someone else a fighting chance. 100% of the funds raised through this GoFundMe will be donated to the UC Davis Lung Cancer Research Foundation. We pray for a future where more lives are spared from cancer and filled with joy.
With gratitude,
Michelle, Katie, Lindsey, & Victoria
