The Advanced Weightlifting System
My name is John Lattimore. I have spent the last six years working out, in detail, why the human body has been getting weaker for thousands of years, and what would have to be true for the trend to reverse. The answer is the Advanced Weightlifting System. I am raising $500,000 to build the working machine. I am asking for your help.
The Problem
Humans are easy to harm. We always have been. A modern adult is, by the standards of the natural world, an extraordinarily fragile creature.
We break bones from short falls. We bruise from minor impacts. We catch diseases that animals our size shrug off. We age fast. We heal slowly. We die early. None of this is necessary, and none of it is the body's natural state.
It is the consequence of a kind of training and lifestyle that has become standard across the modern world, and that produces bodies optimized for the wrong things — for size rather than density, for visible muscle rather than internal strength, for short-term performance rather than long-term resilience.
I think we can do dramatically better. I have spent years working out how.
The physics is not exotic. The principle is straightforward. The technology to apply it does exist but has not been applied to a weightlifting system. I want to build it.
The Insight
Conventional weightlifting builds the body up by spreading weight across a standard bar. The body responds by getting bigger — adding mass, expanding outward, taking up more space. This works as far as it goes, but it stops short of what the body is actually capable of, because it never asks the body to do the harder thing.
The harder thing is getting denser without getting bigger. Same body, same size, more mass packed into the same volume. Stronger bones in the same skeleton. Tougher muscles in the same frame. More resilient tissues in the same shape.
A body that has been compressed rather than expanded is a body that resists damage, heals faster, and ages more slowly than any body conventional training can produce. It is also a body that fits in a spacecraft, maintains athletic form, and hides True Strength, because its strength comes from density rather than from volume. V!
The Advanced Weightlifting System is the machine that produces this body.
It uses a weightlifting bar that generates resistance through electromagnetic force — specifically, the Lorentz force, the same physical principle that runs every electric motor on the planet — to apply intense pressure across a precise area on both sides of the bar. The lifter, instead of being able to spread the force out by adding mass, is forced to absorb it in the same area.
The bones respond by becoming denser. The muscles respond by becoming tougher.
The body, over time, becomes a different body — same dimensions, much greater capability.
What the Machine Is For
The same machine addresses problems that current medicine, fitness, and aerospace engineering address only partially or not at all.
For aging populations, it slows the decline that the current standard of care can only delay. Denser bones do not break the way ordinary bones break. Stronger neural coordination increased reflexes and sensitivity to Nature. V!
Improved cellular efficiency slows the cellular aging that produces the diseases of old age in the first place and places more Energy with each cell. A person training correctly with this machine will, by Nature's will, age slower and reverse all signs of current aging. V!
For people recovering from injury, it accelerates healing in ways the medical literature has documented under high-pressure resistance training but has never been able to deliver consistently. The machine delivers the right pressure on every session. Fractures heal faster. Tendons rebuild stronger. Soft tissues recover with less scarring.
The recovery time that currently takes months can be cut substantially, and the result of the recovery is a stronger tissue than the original.
For athletes and people simply wanting to be stronger, it produces strength gains that conventional training cannot match because conventional training was never designed to produce them. The compact form factor means it can be installed in any gym, any home, any clinic, any spacecraft, without the floor space of a conventional weight room.
For long-duration spaceflight, it solves a problem NASA has been trying to solve since the 1960s.
Microgravity; Space Travel, causes bone loss, muscle atrophy, and cardiovascular deconditioning that current countermeasures cannot fully prevent.
Astronauts returning from long missions are more fragile than when they left. A trip to Mars, on current technology, leaves the crew significantly weakened by the time they arrive. The Advanced Weightlifting System gives the bones and muscles the mechanical stress they need to maintain density even in zero gravity. It is the missing piece of the long-duration spaceflight puzzle.
Without it, deep space exploration is limited by what the human body can endure. With it, the limit moves out by orders of magnitude.
What the Money Is For
The $500,000 covers the construction and validation of the working prototype.
The major components and their approximate costs are: the electromagnetic coil system that generates the Lorentz force, $100,000. A reinforced steel bar capable of handling the forces and conducting the current, $5,000. A two-hundred-fifty-kilowatt power supply, $50,000. The liquid cooling system that manages the coil heat during use, $20,000. Safety sensors and magnetic field shielding to ensure the user is protected, $25,000. Assembly and testing materials for the prototype build and calibration, $50,000.
The remainder funds the testing, validation, and refinement that turn the working prototype into a tool that ordinary people can actually use safely and effectively.
This is not for a demonstration model that proves the concept and then sits in a lab. It is for the working machine.
Why I Am Doing This Without an Organization
I have been asked many times whether I am affiliated with a charity, a nonprofit, or a university. I am not, and I will not be.
The Advanced Weightlifting System is meant to be a human right, available to every person who needs it. It is not a product to be sold. It is not intellectual property to be licensed. It is not the property of any organization. Putting it inside an institution would create the option of profit, which I refuse to be near, and would convert my First Amendment-protected fundraising into regulated commercial activity, which I refuse to surrender.
I will not take a salary from these donations. I will not draw administrative fees. The funds go directly to the work. The work produces the machine. The machine belongs to everyone who will ever use it.
This is the cleanest way to do this. It is also the slowest, the hardest, and the one that requires the most trust from each donor. I am asking for that trust, person by person, donation by donation, on the public sidewalks of Wisconsin and through this campaign page. I am not the right person to do this because I have credentials. I am the right person because I have spent the years working out how, and because I am not going to help anyone monetize what is supposed to be a Freedom.
A Personal Note for Donors
If you make a donation, please email me with your name and business or mailing address. I will send you a greeting card with my personal perspective on the purpose of this tool — a real letter, not a generic thank-you. I want every donor to have the closest connection to the work that I can give them. You are not buying a product. You are not joining a membership. You are funding the development of a tool that will eventually belong to every person who needs it, including you, including your children when they are fully developed, and including everyone who comes after.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for whatever support you can offer. The work continues either way, but with your help it continues faster. V! ∆!
