Hello friends.

It is with absolute heavy heart that I come here today. Two weeks ago I picked up my dad from across state to bring him here with me so he could get some medical treatment and I could help take care of him during his healing. We seriously thought he was having trouble with his heart and needed bypass or stints. 

The day before Thanksgiving, I took him to the ER for initial diagnosis. After they did their blood work, they told us his hemoglobins were at a 4.7 when they should have been at a 12 or 13. This meant that he only had 1/3 of the blood he was supposed to have. (Which explains why we thought he was having heart trouble) His body was losing blood somewhere.

On thanksgiving day, the doctor tells us his CEA (carcinoembryonic antigens) were in the upper 2000's when they should only be at a 7 or 8. I didy research and found that he most likely had cancer. I research everything.

On Friday, they did an exploratory procedure. They tell us they found a very large mass and they ordered a CT scan to determine the exact size and location of the mass. This is when they found it to be 9cm, and they found his liver to be saturated

They immediately took him to surgery to remove the first mass. And get better samples.Now we have to wait for that to heal before we can treat the liver. The biopsy report confirmed the strain of cancer and that 12 out of 15 lymph node were infected.

Yesterday they told us this is incurable, stage 4 cancer. There is a 16% survival rate to 5 years with his diagnosis.

Needless to say he is only 65 so he isn't taking this very well. None of us are.

He will not be going back home. He will have to stay with me from now on so I can take care of him. I will be going back agross state to pack up his belongings and bring them here. 

This is the most unexpected turn of events!!! None of us know how we are going to pay his medical bills. I'm missing a lot of work to be by his side when he needs me most. I will be his primary caretaker, getting him to and from his appointments. 

If anyone can help with medical bills, household bills, groceries, gas... You would be a very appreciated God send.
