Lance Specketer's Long Road to Recovery

Donation protected
*UPDATE*** August 11th
I went and saw our boy today, and I’ve got to say, Lance’s levity during the first few days after surgery was a brave face. There is a lot going on, and he is going to need all of our support, love, and if you can spare it- financial assistance- to get through this successfully.
This was the first surgery of two (maybe three) to get his insides working properly again. His doctor was actually amazed he was alive and pulled through; despite it all, he is on the mend.
But at the current time, he has lost 25 pounds, eats only ice chips, has an open wound about 6 inches long and 3 inches wide on his abdomen connected to a pump that is 24/7 relieving the wound of fluids, puss, etc. He had multiple inches large and small intestine resected, parts were already necrotic, and the current surgery has to heal before he can undergo the next.
It is humbling, and terrifying, to realize how fragile one’s life is. Lance is going through just that right now. The road to recovery will be long, 3 months on the very short end, 6 months is more likely.
So let's do our things, Loveland, and help a good soul out!

This is not a sob story. This is an opportunity.

To paraphrase the Blues Brothers, we have been sent on a “mission from God.” Not to save a convent like Jake and Elwood, rather an institution personified: our local legend, friend, buddy, our kids' teacher, and favorite bartender, Lance Specketer.
Lance had one heck of a scare recently. His strong as a staff body decided to give out for a moment, scare the living hell out of him and those who love him, to make way for invasive surgery and a long road of recovery.
So, I pose this. Think not of a donation as simply a donation. Think of it as a “tip in advance” to help Lance as he heals to get back on his feet, to recover, and to once again be able to be the man of service we all know and love. Whether it is bartending or educating, those who know him know his value. And while a donation is simply a tip from you, a donation from everyone who knows and loves him will make a world of difference to Lance as he is recuperating.
