Due to financial hardship, my family and I are several months behind on rent. My mother was recently hospitalized and can't work and I am trying to pay off our overdue rent balance. My current job does not pay enough to keep up with the overdue balance all at once. We are potentially facing eviction if our current balance is not paid off within the next 60 days. We have applied for rent assistance, but were told it can take up to 3 months for a decision to be made.
