Adsila’s Wonderland

On Thursday, August 31, 2023, Adsila’s world as she knew it was flipped upside down. She was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She had just started a new school at LHS, playing soccer for her high school team and for her city, she was all about making new friends and joining friends at her new school and starting off her academics on a great track. Then, it started with a random nosebleed, three to be exact, in one day. Then on Thursday, a nosebleed that wouldn’t stop. That one nosebleed changed the course of her life at just 15.

Just after 3 days of being diagnosed with T-ALL, she started chemotherapy and trying to adjust and understand what and why this is happening to her. Her parents are just devastated by the diagnosis and trying to get by emotionally, and mentally. Jessica is staying by her side during her month’s stay at Children’s Hospital in Dallas and will not be able to return to work while Adsila is in treatment, while James is in Longview, taking care of their other two children and working as well. They have the best support group in Longview that helps them with the other children as well. This journey of treatment is going to be a long road for Adsila and her family.

This journey will also be financially difficult for them as their expenses increase with having to be in a different city for long periods of time, with just this first month of staying in the hospital for Adsila’s intensive chemotherapy treatment. After the first month, it will be weekly visits for treatment, and possible readmittance into the hospital for days, weeks, or months as she rebuilds her immune system.

With that being said, we have decided to try and relieve some of the financial burden for them and are setting up to take donations for the family to help them out through the GoFundMe, but also to our local family and friends, you can send it to their CashApp or Venmo.
