Adryan is a vibrant 20-year-old whose life took an unexpected turn this summer. On July 2nd, he was rushed to the ER with severe stomach pain, and what began as a routine hospital visit quickly escalated into a crisis. After a series of tests, doctors discovered severe heart failure with an ejection fraction of just 13%. Adryan spent days in the ICU, supported by a balloon pump and IV medications, as his medical team worked tirelessly to stabilize him. Further testing revealed extensive heart damage, due to a genetic condition, and a new diagnosis of celiac disease. Now, Adryan and his family are preparing for an inpatient evaluation with the heart transplant team in Salt Lake City, facing the reality that a transplant is his only hope for recovery.
The journey ahead is daunting. Medical expenses, travel, lodging, food, and time off work for Adryan, Randi, and their family are already mounting. Adryan will need ongoing care, frequent follow-up appointments, and the expertise of his healthcare team as he awaits a donor heart. The financial burden is significant, and every bit of support helps ease the stress and uncertainty for his family. They are also taking steps to have Adryan’s younger brothers evaluated for early signs of heart issues, hoping to intervene sooner if needed.
Beyond his medical challenges, Adryan is a fantastic young man who loves his family, friends, and pets. He’s an excellent student, an RA, and a regular on the Dean’s list. With a certificate in graphic design, he enjoys creating posters for the arts community in Billings and is passionate about geology and anthropology. Adryan dreams of finishing his degree, expanding his rock and plant collections, and living a full, happy life surrounded by those he loves. Your support will help Adryan and his family navigate this difficult journey and give him the chance to pursue his dreams.
