Help my family, please.

*** Update to support request***

My parents are my world. They rescue me regularly. They took me in when I was lost and have never let go. I love my family and our fun household.

Due to extreme financial loss during COVID from what was to be a promising venture, my mom and stepEddy are watching their dreams fade. My parents, specifically my amazing stepdad, purchased the post office building in St. Warburg, Saskatchewan. They poured time and resources into restoring the original police barracks upstairs to make a rental space until they reached a point where they could retire there. They signed a lease, and a tenant was set to move in. Then, everyone was told to stay home. They have been behind ever since.

About a month ago, the boiler pressure began failing, and the decades-old system needs to be replaced, starting around $50,000. My parents are about to lose everything they had dreamed for their future.

Our home needs so much work, including a deep cleaning of the ducts, but not until the house is deep-cleaned. In order to consider selling this place, we need to pour out money and effort we simply do not possess.

Last week, their grandson, Karl, was stillborn. (Mom set up a page to cover funeral costs - https://gofund.me/c7f368d0) We are all under the flu, but we all know the leading cause is stress. Stress is literally making us very sick.

I have a vet bill coming (snip-snip, unless someone wants puppies...?) and am still behind myself.

What if one of them gets sick? If mom's Crohn's gets worse? If stepEddy gets hurt at work? Their dreams are dim now.

I cannot do anything but try to help them by asking for them. I have no idea how much they need to salvage their hopes. Please, anything you can do for them, for us, is something.

With love,

Adrienne

Here is an oldie but a goodie, late summer, 20018. Has five years changed us so much?! We "glowed up" nicely.

Life-long bestie, Noreen, and her family surprised us at the lake, our place of healing and community.

My parents are my (and Shady') biggest fans. They are always the best-dressed at our shows.

I believe I can continue to change the world with my talent to listen, love, and raise my voice for voices lost.

Hello, my name is Adrienne and I need your financial support to continue school, adopt and raise a support animal (for myself), and to manage living expenses. Due to ongoing health issues following a surgical complication and the mental health challenges that accompany the effects of the complications, I am unable to work, maintain high grades in university, and juggle life without, well, issues. I have prescriptions ($300-$500/month) and bills ($1500/month), and school fees to pay ($8,000-$10,000)/year); plus transportation costs. My passion is writing, facilitating, and speaking but opportunity for income is low, as is my energy. My story is long and I am currently trying to put together a book, re-telling the wonderfully hellish year that was 2022.

Below is a link to my blog, an outlet and platform where I can embrace my love for writing and sharing my story. For this site, I will try to be brief in my story and how I have come to have such an impact on my community and family. At nearly forty five, I have had to overcome bullying, ridicule, and self-doubt. In turn, I have found strength, understanding, and compassion.

I have always loved to learn but always challenges to find a way to sit and retain content. I learned only a couple of years ago I am "on the spectrum" and have chronic PTSD due to dealing with this disability and the challenges it presents. While I "adapted" to life's difficulties, I created a shell of false wellbeing. My second year of school suffered - I went from Dean's list to near academic probation. I hit the COVID wall.

Fast forward to today, keeping the story brief for now, a recent routine surgery went awry and I suffered a severe intramuscular abdominal bleed, damaging much of my core muscles.

Which brings me back to the beginning of my plea, and to my lifetime dedicated to service.

I am a part of a thriving faith community, Grace United Church, Lloydminster. We are community focused and driven by the inclusive lessons of Christ to love and serve others. I participate in Outreach programs, volunteer with different committees, play in two of the church bands, sing in the community choir and I am one third of the GU3, our vocal trio, Teach, Diva and me. While it sounds very busy, I am missing a lot of my more physical volunteer opportunities. I lend my story to question and answer sessions regarding mental health and thriving amongst challenges. I hope I can keep doing this but I need to create income.

Without funding, I could not go to school but my funds to cover basic needs are nearly gone. I would love to get paid to write or speak or create, and I am working on that goal, but it does take time. So, please, take time to look at my blog and watch for my upcoming YouTube channel, yet to be titled. We, my family, friends and I, are planning a variety show, talking about mental health, including conversations with my niece and nephew, and music because of the healing I find in performing.

I hope you can help in some way, you will make a difference in not only my life but the life of many others.
