Adrian’s school health insurance & flight to US!

Hi everyone, my name is Kelley McGarry and I am a co-founder of the nonprofit organization, Musicians for the World. Our organization provides free, virtual music education to students in vulnerable communities worldwide.

I have created this crowdfunding source for our most promising student, Adrian Atonya. Adrian is a self-taught violinist from Nairobi, Kenya. The first time we heard Adrian play 2.5 years ago, we were absolutely blown away by his abilities. We immediately put all our resources towards his education, and all of his hard work has paid off...

Adrian is Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s newest Presidential Scholarship recipient! This means that Adrian has all of his classes, meals, and housing paid for in full for this coming Fall 2022-Spring 2023 academic school year. He will be studying with Professor Saúl Bitrán and we are so ridiculously proud!

This GoFundMe has been created to cover the one item that the Presidential Scholarship does not fund - flight and health insurance.

Adrian’s health insurance will cost $2,572 per year. I have added a little wiggle room in hopes that we can raise a bit more for his comfort upon arriving to the states, but the main goal is to get the $2,572 covered within the next few days so he can finish his enrollment, then the extra for the cost of flight.

Placement auditions begin August 30th, so we have to be very speedy with this fundraiser! Please spread this far and wide.
