Standing With Me as I Prepare for a Kidney & Pancreas Transplant

Hi, I’m Adrian Smith, 44 years old from Lakeland, FL.

Life has a way of changing without warning. For me, that change came through a long and exhausting battle with chronic kidney disease. What started as a medical diagnosis became a daily fight — physically, emotionally, and financially.

Over the years, kidney disease has taken more than my health. It has taken my strength, my stability, and my ability to work consistently. Simple things like providing food and keeping a roof over my head have become daily worries. Yet through it all, I’ve kept fighting, trusting God, and doing everything my doctors have asked of me.

I am now in the process of preparing for a kidney and pancreas transplant — a life-changing opportunity that could give me freedom from dialysis, insulin, and constant medical emergencies. While I am incredibly grateful to be moving toward this next step, the preparation period comes with significant financial strain. Frequent appointments, medication, limited work ability, and the need to stay medically stable have made it difficult to keep up with basic living expenses like food and housing.

This fundraiser is not about luxury — it’s about survival and stability. The support raised will help me:

• Maintain safe housing during this critical time. I will need to relocate to Tampa, Florida, while maintaining my housing in Lakeland.

• Keep food on the table

• Stay focused on my health and transplant readiness
