Adrian's Flawed Hero Marathon Fundraiser
Hi, I'm Adrian CEO of Nuzest (www.nuzest.co.uk) in the UK and I'm taking on a bit of a different challenge at midnight of Saturday 26th April to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Flawed Hero Movement.
The challenge is to run a full marathon starting at the stroke of midnight around an approx 1.6 mile loop 15 times in Letchworth, an incredible event organised by Phil Roberton and the amazing Flawed Hero Movement.
I have completed a few marathons now, however that does not make this any easier. It's fair to say each one is a very different experience and each leaves a life long mark (or scar!) somehow. You have to go through your own fire somewhere along the way to reach the finish line.
Pancreatic Cancer UK is an important cause for me, we lost my Nan to this form of cancer many years ago. This is a great chance to make a small difference to the support and research these guys do in this area to hopefully continue to improve the prognosis of this moving forward.
The Flawed Hero Movement is again important to me. Men's mental health and the stigma around this is still an unrecognised issue which I see all too often. Having experienced my own challenges mentally in recent years I can honestly say running has been one of the biggest and best forms of meditation, therapy and an ability to manage everything better, that and having the ability to talk openly about what's going on.
This is more than a marathon, this is a midnight marathon for the soul and for some incredible causes so please do donate whatever you can. Every donation will spur me on to complete the 15 laps and 26.2 miles.
Together, we will run through the dark and into the light.
