Adriana D'Orazio
Donation protected
A couple of weeks ago we received the devastating news that our sweet little princess and my bubbly and spunky niece Adriana had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukaemia. She has already begun her treatment at Sick Kids hospital and made us all so proud with her strength and courage as she faces new challenges and hurdles along the way. Her journey toward recovery will be long and arduous - it may take two years or more - but we know that our little warrior is strong and brave (just like one of her favourite princesses - Mulan).
Each new day will be a struggle for the D'Orazio family as they navigate this scary time - new medications, side effects, precautions, and procedures. As a family, I can only imagine how extremely challenging this time will be for them - mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially.
Many friends and family have reached out and asked how they could help. I know that it's impossible to make this situation better, but I think that if we could help to take away some of the small daily burdens - like paying for gas, hotels, meals, parking, daily expenses - it would help the D'Orazio's to be able to focus on those bigger and more difficult problems.
While there is a "goal" posted, it is arbitrary and is just listed because GoFundMe requires it. Contributions of any kind are greatly appreciated and will go towards making this whole process just a little bit less stressful for the D'Orazio family over the upcoming years while Adriana is receiving her treatment. There will be countless trips made to Toronto, sometimes overnight or prolonged stays at the hospital, and lots of sleepless nights.
On behalf of the D'Orazio family, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your thoughts, prayers, and contributions. Knowing that Adriana has so much love and support around her is heartwarming and truly a comfort during these tough days ahead.
