Hi everyone, my name is Matthew Hamelin. Unfortunately my cousin was killed in a head on collision on highway 138 in Cornwall Ontario. She was on her way home from work (I hate writing the word work since she was so passionate about being a teacher) and a vehicle in the South bound lane hit her head on. Our hearts are breaking right now and we know that a day before she died she started planning her honeymoon with her husband. They got married on September 28, 2019, they have been together for 10 years. It was a magical day and only 5 months later, here are in the most tragic situation. She always wanted the best for everyone and I feel like she would’ve wanted Shaun to still go on their dream honeymoon that they were planning. So please everyone for Adri and Shaun let’s give them the honeymoon that they deserve. They were planning on traveling to Chicago and other places along the way. I can’t believe I’m writing this and that she’s truly gone but I know that she will be by our side through it all. We visited the crash site and recovered 13 plastic diamonds that she would give out to her students as a token of appreciation for their hard work and we also found string. The fact that she left those for us to find is so powerful. We made necklaces out of them and Shaun will keep two of them and it will be his way of keeping her by his side through it all.
