Adrian Ortiz Memorial fund for his wife and son

Hi, I am Faith Waters. I have started this fundraiser to support my niece Bryonna and her unborn son with the medical and daily living expenses she will be facing after the unexpected death of her husband, Adrian.
======================

Three months ago, my sweet niece called me out of the blue with some exciting news. She and her newlywed husband Adrian were expecting their first child! I was over the moon excited for them. It is such a blessing first to find your soulmate but then to have a child; I couldn’t have been happier for them. She told me they planned to name the child after her uncle Bryan, her namesake and my late husband, who we lost when he was only 32. My heart burst with love at the thoughtful remembrance. When I saw Adrian shortly after that, I could see how excited he and Bryonna were to bring this new life into the world and start their lives together as new parents. Unfortunately, fate had other plans.

On Tuesday, November 8th, Bryonna received the news that no young wife should ever hear. Her husband, Adrian, was gone. Adrian died tragically in a fatal accident that evening and would not be coming home to her.

One day earlier, on November 7th, Adrian and Bryonna happily celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary. Their wedding was a day of joy and happiness. Seeing young love full of hope and excitement for their life together. I was blessed to be a witness to their loving union.

Three days earlier, on November 5th, family and friends had gathered to shower Bryonna, Adrian and their unborn son with gifts. My last moments with Adrian were helping him to walk their shower gifts out to the cars while teasing him about changing his son’s diapers.

Why this happened, we will never know. We will never be able to rationalize why life can be so cruel. But I do know that Bryonna and all of Adrian’s friends and family will keep his memory alive and make sure that little Bryan knows who his daddy was and how excited he was to meet him.

As a single mother who has lived in Bryonna’s shoes, losing my husband very young and raising his children without him by my side, I know firsthand the difficult road that lies ahead for Bryonna. I understand her financial challenges now and in the years ahead. They say, “It takes a village,” and no one knows this more than a single parent. I am calling on that village to help Bryonna build the financial foundation she will need to walk this path ahead of her. No one expects to lose their partner when they are 22 years old. Please help me make this a little easier for her and her son. Thank you.
