Help Lori following Adrian’s Passing

I first met Adrian when I helped interview him for a position with a custom builder. During that interview, he mentioned that I absolutely needed to meet his wife because we’d become best friends. He was right—fast forward two and a half years, and the three of us have built an incredible friendship, one that feels like it has lasted much longer than it actually has. Adrian and Lori have stood by me through some of the hardest moments in my life, and now they need our support more than ever.

Many of you may already know that in November 2023, Adrian and Lori were in a devastating head-on collision. Adrian suffered a traumatic brain injury, which at first wasn’t fully understood. In the weeks that followed, the extent of his injury became clear. His short-term memory was severely affected, making it extremely difficult for him to return to work. Both Adrian and Lori were injured in the accident, and the medical bills quickly mounted. After nearly two years of waiting, the insurance settlement they finally received only covered a fraction of those costs. During this time, Lori has shouldered the role of primary financial provider, and their savings has been depleted.

Sadly, Adrian’s health has continued to decline. Earlier this month, he was admitted to the hospital for a week before being discharged, but his condition worsened. He was readmitted late Wednesday night, and doctors have since told Adrian and Lori that several of his organs are shutting down. Hospice has been approved, and a bed is being delivered to their home. Lori has been told she cannot work remotely, forcing her to choose between working and being Adrian’s sole caregiver. With most of their family in Kentucky, they are making plans to transfer Adrian there for continued care.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial burden on Adrian and Lori during this difficult time. Their Florida home needs about $5,000 in repairs before it can be rented out or put on the market. Unfortunately, the housing market here is weak, and selling would mean taking a loss. On top of moving expenses and arranging to relocate their belongings to Kentucky, their regular bills—mortgage, utilities, car payments—must still be paid.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will help lighten their load. Please also join me in keeping Adrian, Lori, their daughter Jordan, her husband, their children, and the rest of their family in your prayers. If you are unable to give, we ask that you kindly share this campaign so others who feel led may contribute.

With gratitude,
Shana
