Adrian Benson Funeral expenses

Donation protected

In honor of Adrian Benson, we are asking that you consider a donation to help defray his funeral and final medical expenses.

Adrian died of esophogeal cancer on the evening of May 11, 2021.

Adrian was a kind man.  A man who loved his family.  A man who showed you how he felt and was not afraid to give his honest opinion.

He spent 8 years on active duty in the US Navy, serving on the USS City of Corpus Christi and as an instructor at New London Submarine school.  After active duty, he served 14 years and retired from the Navy Reserves.  He'd generally only admit it under duress, but he was very proud of the time he spent in the Navy submarine service and the Navy Reserves.

He was married to his wife Teresa for 33 years.  They enjoyed traveling together and Adrian especially loved traveling to historical sites.  If you ever visit Gettysburg, you'll probably see some well-worn paths that he trod often.  Adrian and Teresa have two children, daughter Rachael and son Rhys (partner-Monica and grandson Ashton Arwyn Adrian Benson).  They were very loving towards and proud of their children and their accomplishments.  Like most grandparents, Adrian was over the top in love with his grandson Ashton.

Adrian was a lifelong gaming fan--he loved just about any kind of game, but especially historical strategy games.  He was a co-host of the Podcast Wargaming Recon and loved being a part of the Wargaming community.

Everyone who knew him; his immediate family and extended family and friends at Wargaming Recon will miss him deeply.  His gaming friends at Things from the Basement, LLC have memorialized Adrian in their Exploratory Submarine "USS Adrian Benson" ($10 from every sale goes to cancer research).   Check it out at www.thingsfromthebasement.com, search on "benson".

Again, in honor of his life, his submarine service and his wargaming passion, please consider a donation to help with the expenses of his final days.

Thank you.
