"Adrian Bailey's Stroke Recovery. My Faith and Healing

Donation protected
Before I begin, I want to thank everyone who has messaged me with their prayers and well wishes. Your support means the world to me. ❤️❤️❤️

The morning of Tuesday, August 8th, started like any other day. I was probably the happiest I've ever been in my life. My 50th birthday had passed in March, and I was feeling as strong and fit as ever. I was happy with the love of my life, Solange, and things were going amazingly for in so many areas of my life, and while I may not have had millions of dollars, I felt rich. We were happy, even discussing a potential wedding. That morning, I had just finished working out before starting my work shift.

Later in the afternoon, my friend Troy felt the urge to call me. While we were on the phone, out of nowhere, I began slurring my words. At the time, I didn’t realize anything was wrong, but thankfully, my friend noticed something was off. He got scared and called my mom, who then contacted Solange. She immediately left work, called 911, and thankfully insisted that they send an ambulance to my apartment because I was still thinking I was just having a dizzy spell.

The 911 operator called me, and I still didn’t realize what was happening. I thought I just needed to cool off, so I ran a cold shower. But as I got in, I fell hard and couldn’t get up. That’s when I knew I was in real trouble. The 911 operator asked me if I could unlock the front door, which, thankfully, I was able to do. Someone was at the gate of the community to let the ambulance through, and at that point, I realized it was an emergency—it was a stroke, and time was of the essence.

I was more scared than I've ever been in my life. But in that moment of fear, I remembered the scripture that tells you to rejoice even in trials, so I started thanking God despite how scared I was. Because my best friend and girlfriend acted so quickly, and a Good Samaritan was there to get the gate open, the ambulance arrived in time. I really can’t stop thanking God that they got me to the hospital and administered a TPA shot that cleared the clot in my brain in time to save my life and prevent me from having a permanent disability. Everything that had to fall into place that day to get me to the hospital in time was not a coincidence—that was ALL GOD.

While I was in the hospital, the doctors discovered something unexpected—a hole in my heart that had gone undetected for years. They believe this may have been the reason for my stroke. As a result, I had to undergo a surgical procedure to plug the hole in my heart. This revelation was both shocking and frightening, but I am grateful that it was discovered before it could cause further harm.

**The Financial Need:**
I know God has a plan for me, and I’m not going to question it. I’m just going to continue to be grateful for everything He has done and continues to do. Now, I’m listening to God, putting my ego aside, and allowing myself to be vulnerable enough to ask for help. My medical expenses are estimated to be close to $200,000 so far, and although I have insurance, it only covers about 85%. I was transferred to a hospital better equipped for my situation and also underwent heart surgery. I would deeply appreciate anything that anyone could contribute to help minimize the financial burden caused by this tragic event.

I want to give thanks to God, the doctors, and the emergency staff for everything they did to get me to the point where they expect me to make a full recovery, though it will be a long road, as the left side of my body has been impaired. I promise everyone that I will not give up—I will be back. If any of my Christian friends are interested, I have a recording that contains the scripture set to music that helped me call out that day, opening the door for the blessings that led to my timely treatment. I’d be happy to share it with you.
