Adrian is a 4-year-old boy that suffers from a condition called microcephaly, in his particular case he developed it because his mother got infected with the zica virus during his first trimester of gestation.
Microcephaly hampers the growth of the brain causing the scull to remain as in childbirth through the rest of his life. In Adrian’s case the severity of the condition is extreme compromising his ability to care for himself even in his most basic needs.
He requires expensive medication, therapies, special diet and medical care in the order of 1,000 dollars per month that no insurance will cover.
His father, whom suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure hasn’t had any income since the beginning of the pandemic in march of 2020. The family’s business was a horse excursion company that had to close its doors due to the lack of tourists in the Dominican Republic and has completely depleted his resources rendering him unable to afford the care that Adrian requires.
We are asking for an amount that could pay for Adrian’s needs for the next 8 to 12 months that is when things are expected to recover in the tourism industry in the Dominican Republic.
