What is Adopt-A-Geek?

The Con on the Cob Adopt-A-Geek Fund is a special endowment created to provide registration fees, hotel space, food, travel, and other amenities to con-goers who otherwise couldn’t afford such things. Our goal at Con on the Cob  is to make sure everyone has fun. Nobody should be turned away just because he or she can’t afford the registration fees, travel expenses, hotel costs, or other related fiduciary considerations. Every donation, no matter how small or huge is appreciated.

Here is an Adopt-A-Geek video I made a long, long time ago. It is showing its age but I think you'll dig it.

In the past, your generous Adopt-A-Geek donations have gone to pay registration, travel, and food expenses for victims of Hurricane Katrina, recently unemployed geeks, new parents, and otherwise deserving friends.

If you are in need of the services of the Adopt-A-Geek Fund, or if you have any questions about the fund, please email Andy at

Con on the Cob is the world's most off the cob CELEBRATION OF GAMES, ART, FREAKS, AND FUN! It's FOUR DAYS of RPGs, board games, card games, party games, and all sorts of that kind of jazz. It’s also an art fair, with a large selection of talented artists in attendance and an amazing abundance of fantasy, science fiction, horror, amusement park, and geeky art and art activities. Oh, and it’s The Mother of All Marketplaces, with dozens of vendors showcasing a wide variety of jazz, snazz, and zazz, boosting the geekonomy like old school Robin Hoods but without the stealing and the archery (ok, not like Robin Hoods. I failed analogy class in Kindergarten). Don’t forget the parties…Did I mention the parties? There are parties. A LOT of them. Also there are other things, like amazing special Guests, the Children of the Cob, the Comedy Music Extravagasm!, a Drag Show, Karaoke, a super sweet Auction, Food Trucks, a Games Library, free snacks in the Con Suite, Panels, Workshops, and Demos, a whole track of Cosplay and Fandom related activities, Tabletop Crafting, Miniatures events, and a massive horde of potential friends and peeps who dig the same things you dig! Also, new for 2020 and in keeping with our Haunted Amusement Park theme, an entire slew of Coaster and Theme Park Enthusiast guests, panels, and activities!
