Hi, I’m Nikki Z — a proud Jamaican, media personality, and advocate for culture and community. After seeing firsthand the devastation Hurricane Melissa has caused across our island, I couldn’t just watch and wait. Families have lost everything — homes, clothes, memories — and many are now sleeping wherever they can find shelter.
One of those families is Kevin’s. He’s a hardworking father of seven — a wife, four daughters, and a newborn son born just days before the storm. Their home in St. Elizabeth was completely destroyed. Today, they’re living out of a two-seater truck with a small bed cover in the back, trying to stay dry and safe.
That’s where the Adopt-a-Family Initiative begins.
We’re starting with Kevin’s family — helping them secure safe, stable shelter so they can begin to rebuild their lives. Once they’re in a more secure space, we’ll move on to help another family, and then another, continuing this chain of compassion and action.
Each family that receives help will also commit to paying it forward, assisting the next family in need. This isn’t just about temporary relief — it’s about restoring stability, dignity, and community from the inside out.
Your donations will go directly toward:
Safe and secure temporary or permanent shelter solutions
Bedding, food, clothing, and baby essentials
Basic supplies to help families get resettled
Long-term sustainability for those affected.
Every contribution — big or small — helps restore hope.
Let’s lift Kevin’s family out of that truck and into safety. And as we do, let’s create a ripple of love and rebuilding across Jamaica.
Together, we can turn tragedy into transformation — one family at a time.
