Hi friends and family,

Our names are Carmen and Riley and we are close friends of Vianey, JD’s sister. We are reaching out to people who know and love JD’s family to fund a bench in memorial of JD on the waterfront trail in Port Angeles. We have confirmed that there is space available, but it’s $3,500 to get the bench made and installed. This is not something Riley and I can afford on our own, but believe there are people out there who would like to help in the cause.

Words from city of Port Angeles parks and recreation:

“The benches and custom ceramic plaques are made-to-order locally by the Composite Recycling Technology (CRTC). Benches located along the waterfront are tan with green legs. The fee for “New Adopters” is $3,500. This fee includes the carbon fiber bench, custom ceramic plaque, concrete pad, installation and maintenance for 10 years. After the initial 10-year period, adopters have the option to renew for another 10-year period for $1,000, or to end the adoption. If they choose to end the adoption, the plaque is theirs to keep.”

Riley and I think giving Vianey and her family a place to visit JD in spirit will greatly help them in their grieving process. As most of you probably already know, JD was laid to rest in California alongside his grandfather.

We would love to give this gift to Vianey as a surprise for her birthday on June 23rd. Any amount of money is eternally appreciated.
