Adopt A High School Senior 215

On Sunday 4/19/20, I created the FB group "Adopt A High School Senior - Let's Celebrate Them" with the hopes of sending congratulatory tokens of encouragement as this year's seniors are entering what was supposed to be the biggest season of their lives thus far; prom and graduation.
In this group parents and caregivers write bios of their high school seniors and well wishers in the group adopt to send some form of encouragement to the seniors they adopt. The tokens range from encouraging words in a card or email to small gestures and gifts. The goal is to let the seniors know that the village understands their loss and we support them.
In 7 short days, we have over 4000 people in the group highlighting and blessing seniors, with more than 5k new invitees awaiting approval. Our numbers drastically increase daily. We've blessed over 350 students, provided scholarship and mentor resources for parents, and secured college acceptances for multiple seniors who hadn't received one yet as Covid-19 disrupted that additional time with their counselors to figure it out.
With the rapid growth of this mission, the upcoming National Signing Day on 5/1 (which is another day that will look very different for these kids) and the Global Day of Giving on 5/5 to support ventures designed to support people affected by this pandemic, we felt the need to do more.
This scholarship fund drive will allow us to provide scholarship awards, book allowances, and gift laptops to our seniors during an otherwise dark time for them. The more we raise, the more we're able to give. Our goal is to support them!
