Adopt a Family in Paradise

This year, in lieu of exchanging gifts, my family has chosen to adopt a family in Paradise who lost everything in the fire. Upon looking for a family, dozens of people have contacted me requesting help—all with heartbreaking stories of not only losing all of their possessions, but their only source(s) of income, pets and family members too. 

The family that we have chosen to adopt is wonderful: Carlos and Jazmin Reyes and their two children, Jason (age 8), and Allison (age 4). They lost everything: their home, all possessions, car and their beloved dog, Benji in the Camp Fire. Carlos' workplace burned down as well. They are working hard to move forward while processing all of the grief and loss. 

I’m hoping that others will want to join my efforts and that together we can help the Reyes start over. This Christmas is going to be a tough one, especially for the kiddos. The GoFund me will raise money for their amazon wish list items as well as other practical needs they may have. I have paid for the adoption fees for a dog so they can bring a new one home, just as soon as they find new housing in Chico.
