Memorial bench in honor of Kim Wetzel

On March 29, our dear friend and colleague, Kimberly Wetzel passed away from COVID-related complications.  In Kim’s memory, we are running this campaign to raise money for her memorial bench  in Washington Square Park.  Kim was known to go to Washington Square Park during her breaks to have lunch and watch the squirrels, which she truly loved. 

Kim was an incredible, vibrant presence in our office.  She was strongly committed to her work with NYU’s international scholar population, which she served for over 15 years.  We fondly remember Kim for her artistic talents which were showcased in the NYU Administrator Art Show for years, and for her extraordinary photography skills, which she used to capture special memories in our office and of various OGS events.  She was a skilled baker who dazzled everyone with her unique and delicious cookie contributions at our annual OGS Holiday Baking Competition. 

All donations from the GoFundMe will be used to purchase a NYC Parks Memorial Bench  in honor of Kim.  Any additional funds will be donated to the NYU Administrator Art Show  and the Alumni Fund for NYU Steinhardt’s International Education program of which Kim earned her Master’s degree.
