Hi everyone,
My name is Sophie Birchem, and I am a close friend of Emily Kjelland. On March 24th, Emily was diagnosed with HER2-positive Stage 3 breast cancer. This news has been incredibly sudden and overwhelming, and her world - as well as her children’s - has been turned upside down.
Emily is a devoted single mom and is self-employed, meaning she is the sole provider for her household. As she begins this fight, she is facing not only the emotional and physical toll of an aggressive treatment plan, but also the financial uncertainty that comes with being unable to work consistently. There will be many days where treatment, recovery, and simply not feeling well will keep her from providing in the way she always has.
Through all of this, Emily remains strong, hopeful, and determined to beat this. If you know her, you know how much light she brings into the lives of everyone around her. She is the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation - and now she needs us to show up for her.
We are asking for your support during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping with medical and health-related expenses, as well as everyday household needs. Most importantly, it will help provide some stability, relief, and a sense of normalcy for her and her two young children while she focuses on healing.
Every dollar truly makes a difference, and if you are unable to give, sharing this page would mean just as much.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and support. Emily is not alone in this fight because of all of you.
