Admise à NYU Shanghai : aidez-moi à financer mon rêve !

Je m’appelle Maïlys, j’ai 18 ans et j’ai mon rêve à portée de main : suivre un bachelor en relations internationales et économie dans la prestigieuse université américaine NYU…à Shanghai !

Mais pour que ce rêve devienne réalité, j’ai besoin de vous. Issue d’une famille modeste, je n’ai pas les moyens financiers d’accéder seule à ce but.

Depuis toujours, je suis fascinée par les cultures du monde entier et je me donne les moyens pour réussir ce que j’entreprends :

→ dès l’école primaire, je prenais des cours d’anglais

→ j’ai appris le japonais pendant le confinement parce que j’avais du temps

→ à 15 ans, j’ai convaincu mes parents de me laisser partir un an aux USA

→ j’ai remporté un prix en débat dans mon lycée américain

→ je prépare en ce moment un double bac (français et américain)

À force de travail et de pugnacité, j’ai eu la chance incroyable d’être acceptée à NYU à Shanghai.

Étudier là-bas, au cœur d’un environnement multiculturel, me permettra d’apprendre le mandarin et de me préparer à une carrière dans les relations internationales.

Mon rêve ? Peut-être devenir un jour diplomate ou quoi qu’il en soit, travailler sur des projets à impact global.

Ce projet a un coût total de plus de 210 000 pour les quatre an. Avec ma bourse couvrant presque la moitié, il reste 48 000 dollars à financer pour ma première année, incluant frais de scolarité, logement, assurance santé et nourriture.

Avec ma famille, nous avons déjà économisé et exploré toutes les options, mais ce rêve reste hors de notre portée.

Je refuse de m’avouer vaincue et veux prouver qu’avec de la détermination, tout est possible, peu importe d’où l’on vient. Je redoublerai d’efforts jusqu’à obtenir ce que je veux. Et si vous acceptez de m’aider, sachez que chaque dollar sera utilisé pour atteindre le rêve d’une vie.

My name is Maïlys, I’m 18 years old, and I have my dream within reach: pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Economics at the prestigious American university NYU… in Shanghai!

But for this dream to become a reality, I need your help. Coming from a modest family, I don’t have the financial means to achieve this goal on my own.

I’ve always been fascinated by cultures from around the world and I make sure to work hard to succeed in everything I undertake:

→ in elementary school, I started taking English classes

→ I learned Japanese during the lockdown because I had time

→ at 15, I convinced my parents to let me spend a year in the USA

→ I won a debate award at my American high school

→ I am currently preparing a double diploma (French and American)

Through hard work and determination, I was incredibly fortunate to be accepted to NYU in Shanghai.

Studying there, in the heart of a multicultural environment, will allow me to learn Mandarin and prepare for a career in international relations.

My dream? Maybe one day to become a diplomat or, at the very least, work on projects with a global impact.

This endeavor has a total cost of over $210,000 for four years. With my scholarship covering nearly half, there are still $48,000 to finance for my first year, including tuition, housing, health insurance, and food.

My family and I have already saved up and explored all options, but this dream remains out of reach.

I refuse to give up and want to prove that with determination, anything is possible, no matter where you come from. I will work even harder until I achieve what I want. And if you choose to help me, know that every dollar will be used to reach the dream of a lifetime.
