Admire Gaza through my eyes while supporting my dreams

My name is Mohammed Salem, and I am a photojournalist from Gaza. I have survived six wars, but nothing could prepare me for the genocide that has devastated my family and my people. For nearly a year and a half, I lived with the unbearable fear of losing them, dying a thousand times each day in anguish.
For 29 years, I lived in the besieged Gaza Strip, witnessing firsthand the injustice inflicted upon my people. Through my camera, I captured both the beauty of Gaza in times of peace and the unimaginable suffering of its people during war. On October 4, I left Gaza, hoping for a brief respite outside the blockade. But just days later, the war of extermination began. I desperately wished to return—to stand by my family, to document the suffering of my people, and to fulfill my duty as a photojournalist.
Being outside Gaza during the genocide has been unbearable. Every day, I lost family members and friends, without even the chance to say goodbye. The Israeli occupation destroyed my home in Beit Lahia, bombed my office, and left my family homeless. My elderly parents, now have nowhere to go. My family alone has lost over 300 loved ones, and I lost my best friends. The pain of helplessness has been overwhelming.
In the face of this devastation, I have committed myself to being a voice for those who have none. I am holding exhibitions to showcase the Gaza I knew before the war—a Gaza full of life and beauty—to remind the world that my homeland deserves to live.
But today, I am starting from nothing. I am unable to work because I have no residency permit, and despite everything, I hope to return to Gaza as soon as possible. Rebuilding my life and continuing my mission will not be easy, which is why I am launching this campaign.
Your generous support will help me start again. Your donation is not just financial assistance—it is an act of solidarity. As a token of my gratitude, every donor will receive a photograph taken by my camera, a glimpse of Gaza’s beauty and resilience. Let this be a reminder to always stand for the Palestinian cause.
Thank you for your kindness, your support, and for believing in the power of storytelling.
After receiving your donation, Mohammed will send a 'Thank You' note from GFM and establish communication regarding the photographs.
