Adley attend the AFS Assembly in New York City
Donation protected
Adley has been nominated to attend the AFS Youth assembly in New York City this August.
The Youth Assembly
The Youth Assembly is a global platform that cultivates an international network of young leaders and changemakers through exchange, education, action and impact. It empowers the next generation with opportunities to connect with like-minded peers, trailblazers, and influencers; develop global competence and critical skills; and transform their vision for a better future into action.
The Pong
Adley has been invited to attend through his engagement with Ping Pong a Thon (The Pong) since he was 7 years old. The Pong is a fundraising & advocacy movement, combating human trafficking and exploitation of young people in South East Asia through a series of table tennis events held every year.
About Adley
Adley has not only fundraised for the Pong for nearly a decade, he has spoken at churches, the radio and a National conference, encouraging others to get involved and to educate themselves and their friends about the issue. Over the last few years, Adley has helped to launch 3 new locations, primarily engaging other young people in the effort to fight human trafficking.
Adley will be just 17 years old at the Assembly. He will be flying to New York, staying in shared accommodation for a week, attending the assembly and spending just an extra day before returning to school to continue his year 11 studies.
Adley works incredibly hard at everything he does. He is completing year 11 ATAR, training multiple times a week and playing soccer, a part of the media team at school, works at a cafe when he can and supports his foster siblings and community.
With the current pressures in cost of living and the unexpected nature of this opportunity, we are seeking any support we can from friends, family or those who have the ability to give and allow this incredibly opportunity for an emerging young leader.
