Medical Mission Trip to Africa
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
I have been given the opportunity to go on a medical mission trip to Nigeria this spring. On April 15th, I will be heading to Calabar, Nigeria for 12 days with a group from ANPA (Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas). The team of 70 volunteers will be providing medical & surgical services to over 4,000 patients. These will include life saving surgeries, complex reconstructive surgeries, and everything in between.
As most of you know, I am a nurse, and currently work in the OR at Georgia Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in Marietta, GA. I will be traveling to Nigeria alongside my Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Stanley Okoro, who also has a passion for medical missions. He has been a part of this special mission for several years, so I am very excited to join him this year as we provide medical assistance to individuals who wouldn’t normally have access or the finances to afford medical care.
I have prayed about this trip for several months, and I feel like God wants me to be a part of this team in Nigeria. I have a heart of compassion for His people around the world, and am eager to be a light for Him, while providing medical support to people who need it the most.
I am very excited about the opportunity to provide medical services to the underprivileged; however, there are a lot of expenses that go into a trip of this magnitude. A trip like this will require some financial support from my friends and family.
My goal is to raise $5000 before April 1st to sponsor my trip, and anything above will go directly to ANPA as a donation to fund this mission. If you are able to provide some financial support, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement on my journey to Africa. May God bless you richly!
Sincerely,
Lindsay Spires RN
