Adit's Fundraiser for American Cancer Society
Tax deductible
Four years ago, my family was told my mother had only six months left to live. She had been diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer. Since then, she has gone through three separate cycles of chemotherapy, two major surgeries and had hundreds of appointments all around the country. Thankfully, because of her personal strength along with the help that we have gotten from many around us, she has been able to live far longer than anyone expected.
In the past year, many charities and non-profits have experienced large decreases in funding, simply because there are no cancer walks due to the pandemic. This has both slowed research and halted other family services such as therapy, awareness, and transportation to consults, appointments, and treatments.
Having my mom go through all of this is the toughest thing that I have experienced in my life. Nowadays, reports are saying that one in three people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. The more support for the cancer community and the more research that can be done can push us closer to being able to treat different diagnoses and can help many families around the world.
I am raising money for the American Cancer Society. For every $5 that is donated, I will be running a mile in honor of the donation. So donate both if you want to make a contribution to a society in need or if you want me to get off my butt and get fit. Thank you very much!
More information about American Cancer Society: The American Cancer Society attacks cancer from every angle: promoting healthy lifestyles, researching cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatments, fighting for lifesaving policy changes, providing emotional support and the latest cancer information for those who have been touched by cancer 24/7. Our staff and volunteers provide crucial information and services to cancer patients and families in communities throughout the country.
