Adger Allen Eagle Scout Project

Hi, my name is Adger Allen and I am a Boy Scout and a rising 9th grader at Pace Academy. In my free time, I like to play football and also enjoy going outside with my friends and family. I have been in Scouts since 1st grade and I am really excited for the last chapter of my Boy Scout career. But I need help! I am trying to attain the final rank of Eagle Scout. For my Eagle Scout Project I will be the Project Manager for Agape’s annual Great Backpack Giveaway, which provides underprivileged kids in my community with a backpack filled with school supplies for the new school year. Agape is a non-profit organization which serves under-privileged kids such as giving them after-school care, tutoring, enrichment programs and dinner every weekday. They also provide amazing summer programs and special events such as this Great Backpack Giveaway and a Holiday Store every December to serve underprivileged families in my community. Agape is special to me because Agape serves kids who are a part of my local community and I personally have been to Agape on numerous occasions to help them serve kids. This year will be very different from all others because of COVID-19. All of the different aspects of the Great Backpack Giveaway from sorting to distributing all of the backpacks will need to be redesigned because of COVID-19. The whole process will be very unique this year and I am going to take the lead on organizing these efforts. Part of my project is raising the money I need to be successful which I have estimated to be $900. This money will cover all of the expenses I have identified as necessary in my project.  All proceeds from this GoFundMe are intended to be used for the needs I have outlined as part of my Eagle Scout Project. However, any surplus funds will be given directly to Agape to either purchase any backpacks they still need for this event on July 31st, or to use for their future programming.
