In questo momento mi trovo in Ghana come volontario con TANF Ghana, un’organizzazione locale che lavora giorno e notte per restituire dignità a chi non può permettersela, costruendo scuole e ospedali, offrendo vaccini e visite mediche, e supportando giovani e donne attraverso l’istruzione e il lavoro.

In questi giorni ho avuto il privilegio, e la responsabilità, di vedere da vicino la realtà che tanti bambini vivono.

Bambini come Dina, 6 anni, una delle bambine più dolci e gentili che abbia mai incontrato. È sveglia, curiosa e sempre sorridente, ma non può andare a scuola. È orfana di padre, e la madre, disoccupata, fatica ogni giorno per garantire il minimo necessario.

Dopo aver visto tutto questo con i miei occhi, non riesco a restare indifferente. Quelle che per noi sono solo storie lontane, qui sono battaglie quotidiane. Ma l’istruzione non può essere un privilegio riservato ai fortunati come noi, deve essere un diritto, ovunque.

Per questo ho deciso di lanciare questa raccolta fondi: voglio coprire un anno scolastico completo per 5 bambini, che altrimenti non potrebbero frequentare.

L’obiettivo è 1.200€ totali, cioè 20€ al mese per bambino.

Con questa cifra, potremo garantire:

-Le tasse scolastiche annuali;

-I libri di testo e il materiale scolastico essenziale;

-L’assicurazione sanitaria nazionale;

-Il minimo necessario per permettere a questi bambini di andare a scuola con dignità, senza vergogna e senza dover rinunciare ai propri sogni.

So che ci sono tante cause che chiedono aiuto.

Ma quello che ti sto chiedendo è una cosa semplice: dare a un bambino la possibilità di costruire il proprio futuro, attraverso lo strumento più potente che abbiamo: l’educazione.

I am currently volunteering with TANF Ghana NGO, a local organization working day and night to bring dignity to people that can't afford it, by building schools and hospitals, providing for vaccines and health screenings and empowering youths and women.

Over these days, I’ve had the privilege, and the responsibility, of witnessing the reality that many of these children face. Children like Dina, 6 years old, one of the sweetest and most gentle child I've ever met. She is smart, curious and always laughing, but yet, she cannot afford to go to school because orphan of father with jobless mother, needing to struggle everyday to survive. After seeing it with my eyes, I cannot remain indifferent to this daily battles that for us are just distant problems, education should never be a privilege reserved for the lucky like us, it should be a right, everywhere.

That’s why I’ve decided to start this fundraiser: to cover a full year of school for 5 children who otherwise might not be able to attend.

My goal is €1,200 in total, which equals €20/month per child.

With this amount, we can provide:

-Annual school fees;

-Textbooks and essential materials;

-National health insurance;

-The minimum support required for these children to attend school with dignity, without shame, without giving up on their hopes.

I know the world is full of causes asking for help.

But what I am asking is simple: giving a child the chance to shape their own future, through the most transformative tool we have, education.
