Adenosine deaminase (ADA) deficiency

Hi my name is Asha, I am doing fund raising for ADA deaminase (ADA) deficiency. Adenosine deaminase (ADA) deficiency is a genetic disorder that leads to a severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), also known as ADA-SCID. This means the immune system is severely impaired, making individuals highly susceptible to infections and potentially other health problems. The deficiency affects the production of essential white blood cells, making it difficult for the body to fight off even minor infections. This is a condition someone close to me suffered with for a number of years, and died. They needed a bone marrow transplant and was on a waiting list. People are usually born with the condition but she had it in adulthood which is very rare. I am doing this to help the hospital that treated her. Just by donating you can give someone a second chance in life, For many, a stem cell transplant is their last chance of survival and hope.
